Treatment Schedule
Our mosquito treatment schedule is not set in advance or based on a fixed rotation. Instead, all adult mosquito control (fogging) is driven by real-time surveillance data and public health need.
Areas are only added to the treatment schedule after mosquito populations reach established thresholds based on trap data, landing counts, and service requests. This ensures treatments are applied only when necessary and in the areas where they will be most effective.
When an area is justified for treatment, it will be posted on the schedule prior to application. You can click on any date to view planned treatment areas, and scroll back to see where treatments have previously occurred.
Please note:
- The schedule is dynamic and subject to change based on weather conditions, staffing, and mosquito activity levels.
- Treatments may be adjusted or delayed due to environmental factors such as wind, rain, or temperature.
- Fogging is paused when evening temperatures drop below approximately 50°F, as mosquito activity decreases and treatments become less effective.
This approach allows us to use a targeted, science-based strategy—applying treatments at the right place and time to best protect public health while minimizing unnecessary pesticide use.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to effectively manage mosquito populations throughout the District.
